Sun, Surf, and Sandals: Exploring Sandals Resorts on Latest FAM Trip

Since the launch of their first resort in 1981, Sandals has been one of the leading all-inclusive brands in the Caribbean. Today, Sandals Resorts International is made up of five brands with 24 properties that have long been associated with relaxation, luxury, and stunning destinations. Last month a group of LoveShack Vacations agents along with our Agency Director, Jenn Jankowski, took a FAM trip to Sandals and Beaches Resorts on the island of Jamaica to see for themselves what makes these resorts so special.

Throughout the six-night FAM, agents were able to stay in four Sandals Resorts: Sandals Ochi Beach Resort, Sandals Montego Bay (Sandals’ flagship property), Sandals South Coast, and Sandals Negril. During their days, our Sandals Business Development Manager Whitney Lane led agents on site visits to several other Sandals properties: Sandals Royal Plantation, Sandals Golf and Country Club, Beaches Ocho Rios, Sandals Inn, Sandals Royal Caribbean, Grand Pineapple Negril, and Beaches Negril.

They were particularly excited to have the opportunity to tour one of the over-water villas at Sandals Royal Caribbean, where the refinements of a bygone era, like high-tea, croquet and breakfast in bed offer a haven of luxury seldom found elsewhere. And at Beaches, Sandals’ family-friendly properties, our agents had the chance to mingle with the Sesame Street gang!

From strolling across the pristine white sands of Jamaica’s famous Seven Mile Beach at Sandals Negril, to teeing off at the unlimited golf course of Sandals Ochi Rios, each Sandals Resort offers its guests unique elements provide them with their ideal all-inclusive experience. Though their days were busy, seeing each resort gave our agents the firsthand knowledge and the confidence to share what makes each property special.

Jenn noted how vital these site visits are when travel agents are determining the right all-inclusive vacation for their clients. She said experiences like this help to “understand what you are selling and know the differences in the levels of service – what you receive for the money at each level.” This can make all the difference when you are planning your dream honeymoon or couples getaway.

Food is big part of any vacation! Travelers looking for an all-inclusive getaway are often concerned about the quality and variety of the food that will be offered. Our agents had the chance to enjoy lunches and dinners at many of the resorts, and learn about the different dining options that guests have to choose from at each.

An exciting tour of Appleton Rum Estate concluded the FAM trip. Agents learned how rum is made and sampled Jamaican-crafted spirits in a tasting session. Our agents loved having the chance to take part in the local culture and experience some of the excursions that clients may be interested in.
